Terms of service

By submitting a document or paying for a generation, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

pastedeck has no account system: you do not register, you do not log in, and there is no profile, password or account settings to manage. There is therefore nothing to close or cancel. The service is provided by an individual developer, Tang Yang, operating under the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, and at least 13 years old, to use pastedeck.

You give pastedeck a document — you can upload a file (Markdown, plain text, Word or PDF), paste the text, or provide a link to a page — and it generates a slide deck from the contents. The result is a plain HTML deck that runs on reveal.js and is presented directly in a browser — you open the link and present, there is nothing to install.

The service does not provide .pptx or PDF export. The generated deck is HTML only. A PDF may be a source, but it is never an output. Any expectation of a PowerPoint or PDF file is not something this service can meet, and we do not advertise it.

pastedeck is charged as a one-off payment per deck. There is no subscription, no recurring charge and no wallet of prepaid units to top up. The tiers and their prices are shown on the page where you choose to generate, and that page is the authoritative description of what each tier includes. We do not restate the numbers here, because they are maintained in one place.

Payments are processed by Waffo, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Waffo is the seller of record for the transaction, handles the checkout, and holds the email address you enter there. We never receive or store your card details. Your bank or card statement will identify the charge accordingly.

• Once generation has run, a refund is in principle not available: the model compute for your document has already been consumed.
• If you were charged more than once for the same generation, you get a full refund.
• If a verified service outage prevents you from using a generation you paid for, for more than 72 hours, you may choose a refund or an equivalent compensation.
• If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the statutory 14-day cooling-off right is preserved and nothing in these terms removes it.

To request a refund, email support@pastedeck.app with the transaction ID and a short description of what went wrong.

You keep all rights you already hold in the material you submit. You confirm that you have the right to submit it and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights. If you provide a link rather than a file, you confirm that you have the right to have that page's content processed in the same way. The deck generated from your document belongs to you.

You grant us a limited licence to store and process the material you submit and the generated output for the sole purpose of providing the service to you — receiving it, sending the text to the model provider, storing the result, and serving it back to you. This licence ends when the material is deleted under our retention practice. We claim no other rights over your content and we do not use it to train models of our own.

You also grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, publicly display and permit search engines (including Google) to crawl and index decks that we select for public examples, marketing pages or a gallery. A publicly displayed deck may show its title and the slide text that appears in it. We do not publish every generated deck; selection is curated. If you do not want a deck used this way, email support@pastedeck.app and we will remove it from public display and indexing, although search engines and third-party caches may take time to update.

You must not upload material that infringes copyright, trade marks or other rights; material that is illegal; or material that contains another person's personal data or a third party's trade secrets that you have no right to handle. You must not attempt to bypass the service's security limits, including rate limits, or use the service to attack, overload or probe our infrastructure or that of our providers. You must not use the link feature to reach addresses that are not public web pages, including internal, private or cloud metadata addresses, or to make our infrastructure probe or scan systems on your behalf. We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

The deck is produced by a language model, and model output can be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. It is a draft to work from, not a source of truth. Do not treat the output as legal, medical, financial or other professional advice, and verify anything important before you rely on or present it.

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a given document will produce a deck of the quality or length you expect. Third-party providers — the model API, the payment provider and the hosting platform — can fail or change independently of us.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

We may suspend or end your access to the service if you breach these terms, in particular the acceptable use rules. We may also change, or discontinue, parts of the service; where a change is material we will give notice on this page. When we update these terms we change the date and version shown at the top. Anonymous generated results are subject to the retention period described in the privacy policy, so download or keep the link to anything you want to retain. If you want your material deleted sooner, ask us at support@pastedeck.app; for a data-subject request, write to privacy@pastedeck.app.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Disputes arising from them are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you live.
